1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow websites to remember information about you and your preferences. Cookies serve many purposes, including storing login information, remembering your settings, tracking website usage for analytics, and delivering personalised content. Cookies are generally safe and cannot run code or transmit viruses. However, they do contain personal information and you have the right to control how they are used. There are two types of cookies: session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them manually.
2. How Hyyryn Uses Cookies
Hyyryn uses cookies to improve your experience on our platform and to help us understand how our users interact with the site. We categorise the cookies we use into four types based on their function and purpose:
Essential Cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. They enable core features such as user authentication, security, and escrow transactions. Without these cookies, the platform would not work correctly and you would not be able to log in, make transactions, or use key features. Essential cookies do not require your consent as they are necessary for contractual performance.
Functional Cookies: These cookies allow us to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They remember your preferences, language settings, cookie choices, and other customisations that make your experience more tailored. Functional cookies improve usability but are not strictly essential to the basic operation of the platform. Under the Digital User Agreement Act 2025, functional cookies are exempt from prior consent requirements.
Analytics Cookies: These cookies allow us to collect information about how you use the platform, including which pages you visit, how long you stay on each page, whether you encounter errors, and your traffic source. This data helps us understand user behaviour, identify popular features, and optimise the platform. Analytics cookies do not identify you personally but may be linked to your account if you are logged in. Under the DUAA 2025, analytics cookies are exempt from prior consent requirements.
Marketing Cookies: These cookies are used by our partners and advertising services to track your behaviour across the web and deliver targeted adverts that are relevant to your interests. They are used for retargeting campaigns, remarketing, and analysing advertising effectiveness. Marketing cookies do require your prior consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time through our cookie preferences.

4. Legal Notice: Digital User Agreement Act 2025
Under the Digital User Agreement Act 2025 (DUAA 2025), certain categories of cookies are exempt from prior consent requirements. Specifically, essential cookies, functional cookies, and analytics cookies that serve legitimate interests and do not track identifiable personal data may be set without obtaining explicit user consent beforehand. Essential cookies are always exempt because they are necessary for contractual performance. Functional and analytics cookies are exempt because they improve the user experience and platform performance without compromising privacy. However, users retain the right to manage or delete these cookies at any time through browser settings or our cookie preferences tool. Marketing cookies and any cookies used for third-party tracking or profiling remain subject to prior consent requirements and will not be set unless you have explicitly agreed to receive targeted advertising and tracking.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have full control over the cookies that are set on your device. When you visit Hyyryn for the first time, you will be presented with a cookie banner that explains our use of cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways:
Cookie Settings Button: The Hyyryn platform includes a dedicated cookie settings button (usually found in the footer or account settings). This button opens our cookie preferences tool, which allows you to enable or disable specific cookie categories. You can adjust your preferences at any time, and your choices will be saved and respected.
Withdrawal of Consent: If you have already consented to certain cookies and wish to withdraw your consent, you can do so through the cookie settings tool. When you withdraw consent, those cookies will no longer be set on new page loads, although previously stored cookies may remain on your device until they expire naturally or you delete them manually.
Account Settings: If you are logged into your Hyyryn account, you can manage additional preferences in your account settings, including options to opt out of analytics tracking and personalisation features.
6. Browser Cookie Settings
You can control cookies directly through your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when a website is setting a cookie. The method for managing cookies varies depending on your browser:
Chrome: Click the lock icon next to the URL, select "Cookies and site data", and adjust your preferences. You can also go to Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
Firefox: Go to Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data, and configure your cookie settings.
Safari: Go to Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and Website Data, and select your preferred option.
Edge: Click the Settings icon, select Privacy, search and browsing > Clear browsing data, and adjust cookie settings.
Important Notice: If you disable all cookies, some features of the Hyyryn platform may not work correctly. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function, and disabling them may prevent you from logging in or using key features. We recommend allowing at least essential cookies whilst disabling other categories if you have privacy concerns.
