01

Right to work in the UK

Since 1 October 2026 the law treats a platform like Hyyryn as your employer for this one check, and it has to be done before you start any work you find here. Hyyryn does it before homeowners can see you, so no job waits on it. It is done online, on your phone, in about five minutes, and Hyyryn pays for it.

Reading your checkChecking

This takes a moment.

Hyyryn keeps the result and the check’s report (your document’s details, its photograph and the face match: the record the law asks for) privately, while your account is open and for two years after it closes. Your share code and date of birth go to the checking service, not to Hyyryn.

02

Identity and bank

Stripe checks who you are and the account your money is paid into.

Checking with StripeChecking

This takes a moment.

Your ID and bank details go into Stripe's own pages and are held by Stripe, not by Hyyryn. We are told only whether the check has passed.

03

Trade registrations

Gas Safe, a competent person scheme, TrustMark, and any other register you belong to.

04

Insurance

Public liability, and employers' liability if anyone works for you.

Public liability insurance is not a legal requirement, but on Hyyryn you need it, checked by us and in date, to price gas, heating, electrical and roofing jobs, and any job of £1,000 or more: at least £1 million of cover. Add the certificate so a person can check it; you can price those jobs once it is checked. Employers' liability is usually required by law as soon as you employ anyone.

Your company on the register

If you trade as a limited company, link it here. Your profile shows its number, with a link to its public record on Hyyryn Records.

Reading your company…

A sole trader or an ordinary partnership has no company number, so leave this empty. Nothing about you is marked missing for it.

06

For HMRC

HMRC asks platforms like Hyyryn to hold a few details for every tradesperson paid through them, and to report what was paid each year. They are locked when saved and never shown on your profile.
