Before you choose a price
What Hyyryn checks, and what stays yours.
- Checked before they can price
- Every tradesperson’s right to work is checked before they can send a price. For gas, heating, electrical and roofing work, and any job of £1,000 or more, they also need their own public liability insurance, at least £1 million, checked by Hyyryn and in date. A registration such as Gas Safe shows on their profile once Hyyryn has checked it.
- Up to £1,500 a job, for now
- While payment protection is new, a price on Hyyryn can be up to £1,500.
- Your rights stay yours
- The work must be done with reasonable care and skill (the Consumer Rights Act 2015), and payment protection comes on top of that. Hyyryn does not insure the work.

Chidi Okonkwo has sent photographs of the living room rewire.
Agree them and your time to check the work starts; the £810 stays held at Stripe until it is released. Leave them and they count as agreed after 48 hours, and can no longer be questioned.

Anyone can edit a photograph. A photograph filed on Hyyryn is fingerprinted when it is filed, so a changed copy can be told from the one you both agreed. This record is yours to keep, for an insurer, a buyer or a court.

Hyyryn charges you nothing. The price you accept is the price you pay: our fee comes out of the tradesperson's side when the money is released. Your payment is held at Stripe until you release it, your time to check runs out, or a dispute decides.

Decided
Whoever did not raise it has four days to answer. It is decided on what both of you have filed: released, refunded, or split where part of the work was done. If it is not decided within fourteen days, a person takes it on. The money stays with Stripe the whole time and is paid to nobody until then.
